La Trapa was an old monastery constructed in the year 1811 by the trapenses monks, who, fleeing the French revolution, settled in the Majorcan mountain range, on the valley of Sant Josep and made a formidable construction of patches and other elements necessary to make hill-farming tasks in order to guarantee their survival. The property was acquired by popular subscription by ecological Majorcan group GOB in 1980.
